Cedar Plank Salmon
on the Grill

If it’s an easy and unique salmon recipe that you are looking for, this long time favorite will certainly make a great impression on the entire family as well as the most discerning dinner guests.

Ingredients needed:

1 - 15 inch long - by 6 inch wide - approx. ½ inch thick cedar plank

  1. 2 - ounces sesame or olive oil
  2. GRILLTAMER™ Master Blend™ Seasoning
  3. 2 - 6 ounce salmon fillets, with skin on
  4. 1 - lemon, cut in half

Directions:

  1. Submerge and soak the cedar plank in water for at least one hour before use.
  2. After soaking, coat the plank on one side with oil of choice to prevent the meat from sticking and the juice from ½ lemon.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on the oiled side of the plank, skin side down.
  4. Liberally coat each salmon fillet with GRILLTAMER™ Master Blend™ seasoning and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Pre-heat the grill on high heat with the lid closed.
  6. Re-set the gas settings to low.
  7. Place plank, fish side up on the grill grate closest to the heat.
  8. Adjust the GRILLTAMER™ to its lowest setting and install it in the grill lid, maintaining a medium temperature (325 to 350 degrees F) for about 30 minutes or until fish is firm and can be flaked with a fork. The internal temperature of the salmon should be between 135° F and 140° F
  9. Carefully remove the plank from the grill and place it on a cookie sheet or other heat resistant surface.  (make sure all hot embers are extinguished)
  10. Squeeze the other half of lemon over salmon, garnish and serve.

 Makes 2 servings

For a great table presentation place the charred plank on a cutting board or other heat resistant surface, add lemon wedges, garnish and serve it directly from the plank.
Substitute: Boneless-skinless chicken breast, Mahi Mahi, Trout or Tuna in place of the Salmon

Notes and Tips: Planked food does NOT need to be turned during cooking.
